Nepal is a lovely country and one that is so unbelievable. I'll try not to waffle too much or to sound too cheesy, but Nepal is a truly stunning and totally diverse country. I mean, I only thought that the Himalayas and Kathmandu would be the best spots for visiting Nepal before my visit. Yeah, both are awesome but in Nepal, over and above its mountains and capital, there are really many more amazing places to visit. 1) Kathmandu: On every trip to Nepal, Colorful Kathmandu is a must-see. Despite the massive damage caused by the earthquake in 2015, the capital is a highly popular tourist destination. There are many sights in the city, including the Swayambhunath Buddhist temple, the remains of Hanuman Dhoka, and the Golden Temple, a Buddhist monastery. The chaotic town is sometimes full of smells, sonorities, and people, with rickshaws and traffic slowing on the streets all around. Kathmandu is an enjoyable place for a few wonderful days. 2) Nuwakot: An idyllic and relaxing getaway, but it was severely damaged during the recent earthquake, the small town that formerly was the capital of Nepal.
