Overview of Nuwakot Village

The municipality of Nuwakot, Nepal, Nuwakot (domestically) is situated in the municipality of Bidur, Nuwakot district. The towns of Trishuli and Tandi are located on the banks of rivers. It lies about 80 miles west of Kathmandu, the capital of the valley which was Prithvi Narayan Shah, and has acted as a lookout for the western entry to Kathmandu valley, and has been the capital of Nepal for over 1000 years. The historical importance of Nuwakot

1. Trishuli River: It is the tale that states high in the Himalayas in Gosaikunda, Shivah drove its trident into the soil to create three wells – the source of the fluvium and thus its title Trisuli. It is King Prithvi Narayan Shah’s death and funeral site. The city lies at the intersection between the river Trishuli and the river Tadi. Devghat is a prominent place for pilgrims located in the confluence of the rivers Kali Gandaki and Trisuli. It is located just north of the Royal Chitwan National Park jungle safari attraction. In January, during the MakarSankranti festival, worshippers from the Hindu river gather here to dip into the river. At 900 m, the historic citadel is proud, in the picturesque Nuwakot Bazaar, as though undisturbed by changing times.
