Ilam Nepal is one of the famous tourist spots. It extends from the belt of the Terai to the country's higher hill belt. The term Ilam is taken from the language of Kirant, where 'IL' signifies 'twisted.'

1) Mai Khola

Mai Pokhari is 20 miles from the city of Ilam, around half an hour's drive away. It is a great pool with 9 corners, which Ilam must visit. The nine corners have 9 separate gods. A year's fair will take place every year in October or November as Goddess Bhagawati's holy dwelling place. For Hindus and Buddhists, Mai Pokhari is an important religious place. It is the habitat of various species such as the Porcupine, Leopard Cat, Musk Deer, Jackal, Lily of Water, Orchid, Rhododendron, and many other herbs, and the lake is surrounded by wonderful plants. 2) Sano Pathibhara Temple

Sano Pathibhara Devi's Temple is a famous Hindu religious monument. It looks like the Taplejung district in Pathibhara. The Temple of Pathibhara Devi in Taplejung is thought to be the younger Temple of the Sisters and the one of Ilam. The temple was therefore called the Temple of Sano Pathibhara.

3) Kanyam

The vast tea-growing that has been done for more than a century now is known in Kanyam. The queen of eastern Nepal is known as Kanyam. Ilam has been able to draw national and international tourists because of its cooling climate and gorgeous tea vegetation. There are 240 hectares in the Kanyam Tea Gardens and some 125,000 kg of tea is generated every year. Kanyam is a clear spot from Mt. Kanchhenjunga, terai regions such as Siliguri, Jhapa, Darjeeling and Mirik in India and Bay of Bengal. The locations are preferred spots for a picnic, sightseeing, and snapping pictures for residents. The Ilam Bazar is around 43km away

Ilam is known for its tea and a great escape from city life. It is one of Nepal's wealthiest districts for cultural diversity, scenic scenery, and a thriving field of income crops. The most important cash crops are potato, cardamoms, ginger, cold red, milk and broom, and tea, which is the largest industry.
